Each year in America, 23,000 young adults on their 18th Birthday are out of foster care. Many young adults are automatically enrolled in the City’s shelter system, A haven for drugs, prostitution, and crime. Many of these same youths end up in prison; as statistics show, up to 60% of the sex trafficking victims here in the United States are ex-foster care youth. The Link NYC Life Preparation Project (LPP) was developed to address these statistics and improve the lives of these young people, bringing about change and new possibilities for them. The Life Preparation Project prepares them for a productive future in our society, arming young adults with the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities to instigate change. Help foster new care in our community by funding our LPP initiative today, where every dollar counts.
