Each year in America, 23,000 young adults on their 18 Birthday age are out of foster care. Many young adults are automatically enrolled in the City’s shelter system, A haven for drugs, prostitution, and crime. Many of these same youths end up in prison; as statistics show, up to 60% of the sex traffic victims here in the United States are ex-foster care youth. The Link NYC Life Preparation Project (LPP) was developed to impact these statics and combat lives, bringing change and new possibilities to these forgotten youth and young adults. The Life Preparation Procjecst prepares them for a productive future in our society, arming young adults with the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities to instigate change.
